Charity Pledges
In the run-up to the election, it is usual practice for many charities, campaigning groups and other organisations to call on parliamentary candidates to sign a pledge on the issues that concern them most. I want to be fully open about my activities and my support and so I intend to list here all those pledges that I have signed. Please bear in mind that if an organisation or a pledge does not appear in the list, that does not mean that I am not supportive — it can simply mean that I have not, as yet, had chance to sign the pledge.
To date (29th April 2010), I have signed the following pledges, listed in alphabetical order:
Association for the Conservation of Energy — Do More with Less
Cancer Research — Commit to Beat Cancer Pledge
Macmillan Cancer Support — Making Cancer a Priority
NSPCC — I Stand for Children
NUS — Funding Our Future Pledge
Power 2010 — The Power Pledge (excluding paragraph 4)
Refuge Council — The Asylum Election Pledge
Robin Hood Tax — and see my related posting on this
Royal British Legion — ‘Time to do your bit’ Pledge
There are several others pending verification (an issue of internet security!).
